Jr. Business Analyst

Bold Penguin is an insurance technology (Insurtech) company focused on providing innovative technology solutions that help insurance agents do their jobs more efficiently. We built an online tool that helps simplify the process of buying and using business insurance.

We’re in search of team members that are comfortable with spending the day on the phone talking to prospective clients while always looking for ways to improve our call cadence, scripts, and ways to connect with both prospective clients and agents.


You will be responsible for vetting and verifying businesses that come to our platform looking for commercial insurance. Once you collect data and verify their intent, you will transfer the business to a matching agent—a process that continually improves with machine learning. As a verification team member, attention to detail is paramount as you will verify a specific data set in order to ensure an accurate match for the customer. 

You’ll work full-time in our Columbus, Ohio office. This job is a customer service role which means you’ll spend your time on the phone talking with prospective clients, agents, and carriers. Although this is an entry-level role, you’ll make a major impact on the company and our clients.



  • Strong listening skills—ability to pick up on cues that aren’t spoken
  • Strong phone skills—ability to control and carry a conversation
  • Comfortable working with CRM tools, Google Apps, and Microsoft Office
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Associate’s Degree

Preferred, but not required

  • Basic business insurance knowledge (commercial insurance)
  • Experience in a business analyst, customer service, or account management role
