COLUMBUS, OH (November 2, 2022)– Bold Penguin has partnered with Neptune, the largest private  flood insurance company for U.S. small businesses, enhancing coverage options on The Bold Penguin Terminal through this carrier panel expansion. For the first time, Bold Penguin Terminal users will be able to quote and bind flood insurance for small business owners in 48 states and the District of Columbia, where Neptune operates, giving them more coverage options and making the process effortless for those seeking flood coverage and more.

Founded in 2016 by insurance agents, Bold Penguin is driving the charge to simplify small commercial insurance for carriers and agents. Neptune Flood is the preferred National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) alternative flood insurance solution offering an entirely digital quote and bind process.

According to a recent First Street Foundation study, approximately 730,000 retail, office, and multi-unit residential properties are at “risk of annualized flood damage in the contiguous U.S, and the absolute count of buildings at risk will grow by about 8% by the year 2052 as a result of climate change.” Additionally, the peril of flood is not covered under a standard Business Owner’s Policy (BOP) and approximately one-fifth of Neptune’s claims in each event are from low risk areas, making this a rising product demand for brokers and agents in order to better serve their customers’ needs.

“Bold Penguin is committed to expanding access and coverage for our agents in the most cost effective and time efficient way possible. As evidenced through recent climate events, flood insurance is an extremely important coverage option for a significant percentage of our users. This new integration proves that as the insurance industry evolves, so will we,” said Karnina Szymanski, Bold Penguin’s Chief Customer Officer.

“As more commercial property owners look to protect their assets from the risk of flood, Neptune is excited to partner with Bold Penguin to make it fast and easy to obtain flood insurance,” said Trevor Burgess, President & CEO of Neptune. “With the hundreds of thousands of commercial properties across the U.S. at risk for flooding, Neptune is primed and ready to help protect against the costliest natural disaster.”

Neptune offers coverage A limits up to $4MM for Commercial as well as provides additional optional coverages like Business Interruption. The average quote to bind is two minutes.
